Every girl weaves the dreams about her life. She thinks about what she is going to be, what career she will choose, which way to go, what decision she will make that will lead her to the heights of success. She is determined and enthusiastic. Her passion drives her to make choices that will help to make her dreams come true. But life is uncertain.
I used to be very much passionate too. I wanted to become a journalist. In my mind, I built the “Burj Khalifa” of my dreams. And I was ready to climb up. But then the most unexpected and uncertain thing happened to me. I GOT MARRIED!
Marriage is a beautiful thing indeed. But it changes people. All of a sudden my focus has changed. Instead of making a news story, I’m making food. I’m also doing investigative stories but all of them focus on my husband now. All day I sit in my house, wondering what to do. Sometimes there arises a sudden urge to be recognized, of being useful, of being productive. But there are certain limits which you can’t cross sometimes.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t live your life and fulfill your dreams. You can still do it. Obviously, marriage changes one’s priorities, but that doesn’t mean you can’t steal some time for you. Start a hobby, Work from home, be whatever you want and live your life. Just don’t give up on yourself. Don’t waste your time on thinking about what you could do. Start utilizing the resources you have right now and build your dreams on them. It’s never too late to begin. At least that’s what I am doing right now.
