You haven’t talked about essential oils and Doterra unless you talk about Lavender. Not only does it smell wonderful, the healing powers are amazing. Life is full of stress; it comes at you from all directions. The people in your life, your job, traffic, illness, and children can all factor in on your mood. Modern medicine wants to write prescriptions by the thousands for drugs that alter your mind. I have gone through severe anxiety attacks, and let me tell you it’s scarier that being thrown in the Alfred Hitchcock, Psycho House. Your heart races, sitting still is useless, and everything/something is wrong, but you can’t put your finger on what that wrong is. I tried all the conventional medications, and not only did they make me extremely sick, they didn’t help me at all. Life’s problems will still be there weather you take a magic pill or not.
I started sprinkling lavender on my bed every night. My sheets smelled warm and inviting and I just wanted to cuddle up in them. I also rubbed the oil on my feet, face, and neck. I’m a bit of an over-achiever when it comes to oils. Of course my problems were still there, but I slept at night. Getting sleep was monumental considering I would either be awake all night or barely dream.
Lavender is one of the oils I use on my animals regularly. I rub it on my Cockatoo, who has a habit of pulling out his feathers. He hates when I leave him, so whenever I need to go somewhere I rub a few drops on his back. That’s all it takes and soon his eyes get heavy and he pulls one leg up and drifts off to sleep.
To keep calmness in my house I always run lavender in my diffuser. Sometimes it’s mixed with other oils, but mostly by itself. The dogs are calm and sleeping, I feel comfortable and my house smells amazing.
The following is taken directly from a Doterra blog- Study 1: The quality of sleep in patients was significantly improved after aromatherapy use of lavender essential oil. The study shows that aromatherapy with lavender essential oil can improve an individual’s quality of sleep and health.
Study 2: When lavender was applied topically, nurses in an ICU setting demonstrated decreased perception of stress, in the intervention group, during three 12-hour worked shifts.
Having my own experiences with anxiety medication I would much rather buy this oil in bulk. And unlike medications there are no side effects or doctor visits to worry about. This oil is amazing and a must for everyone.
