The newest fad for expecting fathers is a Beer and Diaper party. Decorating for a party takes a lot of effort in trying to find the perfect colors, themes and decorations. Now imagine being the one trying to decorate for a man’s only baby shower. Cute rubber duckies and garland just won’t get the job done when preparing for a man’s Beer and Diaper baby shower.
Beer and Diaper Theme
I recently went to a Beer and Diaper party that used the theme Beer and Diaper. The host created garland with diapers, writing one letter of the baby’s name on each diaper. She used paper mache to hold it together, bonding it with Velcro. Remember the tried and true hot glue probably won’t work on diapers, as they are plastic. She also took beer bottle of various sizes and placed greenery in them. She told me flowers weren’t this dad to be’s thing. These were centerpieces. Plastic diaper pins were purchased at a party supply store and placed in the center of the table, to be used as confetti.
A camouflage theme is perfect for a son to be father who hunts or spends lots of time in the woods. Several internet sites, such as partycity.com. have almost any sort of camouflage decoration one can imagine. Supplies run the gamut from table clothes, to cake toppers to centerpieces. However, ensure that the theme stays hunting , rather than military, as camouflage can now be used for both. Create your own baby themed banners and centerpieces. For a banner, simply use a large 12 inch stencil set to write one letter of baby’s name on each plate. Also, consider tracing and cutting out the letters to create a banner. For those wanting to stay with tried and true baby gender colors, pink camouflage is an option, although a bit more difficult to find.
Not all men have a favorite sport’s team, but for those who do, a sport themed Beer and Diaper party is a perfect idea. Most party supply stores and big box retailers carry sports party supplies, especially in season. Your guy’s favorite football theme might be difficult to find in the middle of summer. Search the internet if planning an out of season sport’s theme for supplies. Centerpieces can be as simple as a stuffed team mascot for the center of each table. Bouquet of contrasting team colors are easy to find and create.
Most men probably wouldn’t are if decorations were missing altogether. Great food, baby diapers, and some entertaining games make any dad to be happy. Since babies use close to 3500 diapers in the first year alone, any parent would be happy with tons of free diapers!
