This combination playground park, and green way trail is a hit with adults and children alike. A few Sundays ago, my husband and I walked 2 miles on the trail. We took an interval in the park. There were people of all ages. Senior couples holding hands, young parents with babies in strollers, teenagers and small children.
What we both really enjoyed was the diversity, which truly makes this area a melting pot..My husband and I grew up in a time when things in this city were basically in black and white. Where ever you went, it was a Caucasian majority, with a few minorities, or the neighborhood was totally inhabited by African Americans.
At Countryside park, we saw such diversity as we could never have imagined decades ago. There were Americans whose heritage was Europe, African, Caucasian, Asian, Middle eastern,(Arabic and Indian) Hispanic, biracial and multicultural enjoying the park together..
The children really love the music center, where you run to push buttons wen they light up, so that a song will play. My granddaughter who is not quite two years old, danced herself happy. She held her own with her brothers, and other big boys. I believe Countryside playground park green way trail is a big hit.
