The average IQ in the country is around 100. This means that over 50% of the country probably hover around the double digits, which is fine, but that also means that what the majority likes isn’t always liked because of its quality but in fact the opposite. It’s liked because of its simplicity and easy digestibility, in a manner of speaking. This next comedian is a prime example of that.
Dane Cook is the people’s comedian. People like him, I think, because his jokes are broken down in a way that even a 3rd grader could understand and even if they didn’t understand they’d still laugh at how he tells jokes. Dane Cook is a prime example of good marketing. His material is very blasé and not very creative but it makes the general public laugh. I use to be a huge fan before I knew what good comedy was but now I basically don’t care much for him. Not that I think he is bad but I just am not stimulated by him mentally. He certainly is not revolutionary or touching on any real taboo subjects but instead is a common man’s comedian. Someone who focus’s on relatable comedy. Nothing wrong with that but it just is not for me.
I’d say my favorite joke of his is B&E just because I remember the first time I heard it made me laugh for a long time. I tried to retell it to my friends a great deal and despite me not really liking Dane Cook now he is one of the comedians that got me started liking stand-up and what better way to honor that then to mention the first joke of his that I can remember hearing. So audience have you ever broke into a house?
