Climate change has been quite the controversial subject in recent years, especially since it’s been renamed because people fought so hard against the original title of global warming. (nytimes) Global warming has been around for quite some time, at one point it was accepted as something legit and that people needed to pay attention before it became too large of a problem, but at that point it was usually seen as something far away, when it became clear how quickly things were happening a change had to be made. (dailymail) I’m a supporter of researching what can be done to slow or possibly stop climate change, it’s a massive problem and if not put in check will do nothing but spell disaster for the entire planet, I mean it’s not like a giant chunk of ice just broke free from Antarctica that’s going to cause ocean levels to rise. (nytimes) Climate change can be debated but it’s not a matter of if it truly exists but more of debating how far along it is and what can be done to stop it, although that’s not really something that certain wealthy individuals want people to think about, they would rather you just treat is as if climate change is a complete fallacy. Climate change as a controversial topic has be going around for a little while now, but it’s still somewhat shocking to find out just how far people are being pushed when it comes to denial of changes going on all around the world, especially when it’s in a place as advanced as Canada. (theguardian) The latest report is that weather forecasters in Canada as now forbidden to speak about climate change, the claim is that the study of meteorology doesn’t give someone the knowledge needed to speak about things beyond a few months. (iflscience) The claim is that it has nothing to do with denying global warming, it’s because they aren’t trained enough to speak on the subject, which is hokum as coverage of the subject of climate change has dropped by 80 percent since the ban went into effect, essentially blacking out the subject from the masses. (rationalskepticism) Ignorance may be seen as bliss by some, but it’s nothing short of showing your lack of intelligence in all truth. It’s one thing to bring facts to the table in an argument against something so massive as the melting of the polar caps, it’s quite another to come to the argument just stating that it’s cold outside so global warming can’t be true, even worse when you just decide to put a wall up and act as if it’s nonexistent, and unfortunately we’re headed down that path toward ignorance.
