Wedding gowns symbolize the most important day in a woman’s life. It should make a statement. This I learned from my many years as an etiquette consultant answering questions from anxious brides.
As wedding season approaches, let’s explore these five celebrity-wedding gowns.
Celebrity Kim Kardashian in Givenchy
Perhaps not the most iconic, but Kim’s stunning Givenchy wedding gown is one of the most recent and most awaited. Contrasting her last wedding gown – a cleavage-baring beauty – this lacy number uniquely hid her chest, but accented her other curvy assets.
Bonnie Fuller of Hollywoodlife.com writes, “Kim Kardashian, you did it! You stunned the world with your over-the-top, gorgeous Givenchy gown ….” My reaction? The dress is a piece of art.
Odd? Singing celebrity Gwen Stefani in pink
Gwen looked stunning in her unique Dior white-silk wedding dress dipped in pink–accented with an antique lace veil. Instantly iconic, it joined “The History of the Wedding Dress” exhibit for a Museum in London.
A quick Internet search confirms that I’m not the only one who loves it. Shine lists it as one of the “Most Iconic Wedding Dresses Ever.”
Mello Yellow Actress Amber Tamblyn
Barefoot in the woods with a few close friends, celebrity Amber Tamblyn chose a simple yellow, form-fitting lace cocktail dress for her wedding gown. Even with a slight train, this could appear an odd choice. However, I found it matched the formality of the surroundings perfectly-great choice. Public comments like AGiehler’s on Glamour.com “Her dress is so pretty!” affirm my opinion.
Grace Kelly’s princess gown
AccessFashion.com writes that celebrity Grace Kelly’s slender, lace-covered bodice, atop a full-taffeta skirt was “The most iconic wedding dress of all time….” I must agree. Besides its stunning elegance and intricate lace detail, it epitomized the new role Grace would play from this point on–princess.
Kate Middleton channels her inner Grace Kelly
An instant celebrity, commoner Kate to marry Prince William intrigued much of the world. In fact, most of the world watched them wed. Stunning with timeless elegance and classic style, Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress is my all-time favorite.
Showing off her tiny waist, and yet appearing demure and delicate, this intricate satin dress projected every much a princess in handcrafted lace. Highly valued, according to HelloDailyNews.com “The “Kate effect” took hold and three years on, bridal designers are still emulating her show-stopping gown.”
