We are at the start of wedding season and many are trying to think of creative themes to make their bridal shower unique and special. Having experience with planning and helping to cater many weddings and bridal showers, I know how difficult and stressful the entire process can be. So keep reading below to see all of the bridal shower themes that you may be able to use for 2014. Some are new and some are classics that are still great.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
I’m sure you have heard of this theme, since it has been around for such a long time. This theme is all about the sunglasses, large fashionable hats, and of course the black dress. Some brides have chosen to have the entire bridal party dress in black dresses with the hats and pearls to get the theme started. If you go to the Etsy website you can find invitations to match the theme, napkins and even thank you notes. To get even more ideas you can take a look at the Breakfast at Tiffany’s Pinterest page by clicking here. This page has everything from the cupcakes to the favors.
Tea party Shower
I have to admit that this is one of my favorite shower theme ideas. I love tea, and tea parties, and a shower gives you the opportunity to dress to match the theme. You can have a variety of tea’s available at your shower, both hot and cold options. Finger foods go best with a tea themed bridal shower. You may even be able to check with some family and friends to see if they have any antique tea sets which can be used for decorations at the bridal shower. If you use these items for the bridal shower it may be a good idea not to have any kids present so that nothing gets broken.
Garden themed shower
More and more brides to be are looking to plan an outdoor bridal shower. Of course you do have to worry about the weather but if you make sure you have a canopy or tent for the occasion the weather should not interfere much. However you can also have a garden themed shower indoors as well. What’s really nice about the garden theme is that you can have fresh fruit, and vegetables to go with the theme. Since it is a garden theme you will want to make sure that you add plenty of fresh flowers, and plants to each of the tables. Be creative with your table decorations and use bright colors to really make that garden feel come alive.
A vintage themed wedding is pretty new to me, but I am finding more, and more people really enjoy this theme. With this theme you will want to use items that have a real aged look to it. For example you can set up some antique looking frames at each of the tables, with pictures of the bride and groom in it. You can have pictures of the bride and groom when they were younger to really make it stand out. When it comes to the food you can really be creative. For example I came across vintage looking tea bag cookies. It may sound a little unusual but they are really great looking and will add a special touch to your entire theme. With a vintage theme you can use everything from old books, to old suitcases to decorate a room.
Paris themed Shower
Paris really screams romance to many brides to be so why not make this a shower theme. You can purchase mini Eiffel towers, and place them on all of the tables around the room. You can also go online to find Paris themed bridal shower invitations. For one theme we even had a beautiful fountain set up on one of the tables with the dessert items surrounding it. You can really use your imagination with this them, and make the setting as romantic as possible with dim lights and candles on the table.
Lots of brides to be are getting into the idea of making their theme based on their favorite color. So you can build an entire bridal shower theme around the brides favorite color, which may be the color chosen for the wedding. Be sure to have a nice accent color to go with the main theme color.
