In recent years the sport of duck hunting has surged to unprecedented popularity. For many people new to the sport they are looking for the right equipment to take with them. There are many great shotguns out there but here are the best semi automatic shotguns for duck hunting that you will find. Each has a price tag in excess of $1000 but they are all worth it to a serious waterfowler. Without further ado here they are:
Benelli Super Black Eagle II
The SBEII is probably the most popular semi-auto on the market today. It comes with a high price tag but most people who use it for waterfowling will swear by it. It comes in many colors and camo patterns. You can even get a SBEII in a left-handed version, which you will not see in the other models on the list. If you have ever seen Duck Dynasty you may have noticed that even the Robertson go with the SBEII
Coming in a close second in my opinion is the Browning Maxus. One of the great things about the Maxus is that it is a little lighter than the SBEII. At 6.5 lbs for the Maxus you will notice the difference. Like the SBEII you can get it covered with many different camo patterns but you will not find a left-handed model. Browning has made a name for itself in the shotgun world and the Maxus is just another notch on its belt.
If you enjoy the lightweight feel of the Maxus then you will love the A400. In my opinion it would be the best semi-automatic shotgun for duck hunting out there if it weren’t for the high asking price. The Beretta is a little overpriced but there is no doubt that it is a great gone. Maybe not on the level of the other two but great nonetheless. I have hunted next to many people with this gun and they do not seem to have a problem reaching out there for some greenheads.
So there they are the, these are the best semi automatic shotguns for duck hunting on the market today. There are of course many other options out there. If it all possible I would definitely find a way to shoot each of these guns and find which one works for you. After all in the field all the matter is what works for you.
Go luck in the field, and until next time, Happy Hunting.
