Sake bars are not easy to find in the suburbs. It seems you have to be near a big city to find a good sake and sushi lounge. Many offer a wide variety of Sake…including warm, cold and many different flavors. The Japanese alcohol termed “sake” is becoming widely popular in the States. Sake is also called rice wine because it’s made from fermented rice, instead of grapes. Finding a good sake bar and sushi bar in Pennsylvania can be tricky, but if you are anywhere near Philadelphia there are quite a few amazing options.

If you are somewhere in the middle of the two, you will have to go with whichever is closer. NYC also has many fantastic sake bars…but what don’t they have?! If you are close to NYC, you must check out Satsko. They are award winning and absolutely amazing authentic Japanese food and drinks. The Village Voice rated them a top 10 place to get sake.
