Best Hotels in Dallas for Families of Five

by yak max

Traveling with a family of five or more can be a real challenge, especially when it comes to finding quality hotel accommodations. Most hotels today only allow online reservations for up to four guests per room, and adjoining rooms are not always guaranteed.

Last year, when my kids and I decided to join my husband on a business trip, I was inspired to write an article about some of the best hotels in_Oklahoma City_for families of five. Because I had experienced trouble booking a hotel for my own family online, I knew that other families might, too.

This year, when our family decided to take a spring vacation in the Dallas area, I was excited to share some of the area’s best hotels for larger families with my readers. Again, my choices were limited, as many area hotels will not allow you to book more than four guests in a room, but I found some wonderful choices, two of which we visited personally.

Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas

I’d never stayed at an Omni property before, but judging by the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas, I am a fan. We spent two nights at the Omni Mandalay, and our stay could not have been more enjoyable. The spacious rooms, beautiful views, and relaxed atmosphere of the hotel made us feel right at home, but it was the customer service that made our visit truly exceptional.

My kids said they felt like rock stars, enjoying the VIP treatment with milk and cookies delivered to the room each night and plush robes to wear as they lounged around. I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet, with an omelet bar, fresh squeezed orange juice, an assortment of breads and fruits, and all the bacon I cared to eat.

My daughter didn’t mind sleeping on the pull out sofa, which she said was quite comfortable, because she was very relaxed from enjoying a nighttime swim in the lakeside pool before bed.

Sheraton Dallas Hotel

We also stayed at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in downtown Dallas. With its organic lines, botanical artwork and natural textures, this hotel felt like a serene oasis right in the middle of the city. We liked having easy access to the many downtown attractions, but still feeling like we could leave the hustle and bustle behind when we walked through the doors of the hotel.

The large room we reserved had more than enough room for our family of five, with two queen size beds, a large pull out sofa, and ample seating for everyone. We enjoyed a swim in the rooftop pool and even some time in the fully equipped gym before retiring to our comfy beds for the night.

Hyatt House

With multiple locations around the Dallas area, Hyatt House hotels are a great, affordable choice for families of five. I did not get to personally stay in a Hyatt House property during this trip, but I have stayed in Hyatt hotels many times before, and always had a good experience. I appreciate that many of their properties allow online booking for families of five.

Hyatt House suites offer two double beds and a sofa sleeper, and they come with a fully equipped kitchen. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary breakfast, outdoor pool and free high speed internet and more. All Hyatt House properties are also completely smoke free, which is a great feature for families.
