We are excited to spend a lot of time enjoying nature this summer. This destination is less than 30 minutes from Chico. It’s alluring because of how close it is to us and yet, while there, we feel so far away. The campgrounds feature sites to accommodate campers of all types including equestrian campsites for those exploring on horseback. There are floating campsites that fit up to 15 people and are accessible by boat. Forebay is a recreation center with kayaking, canoeing and a spot to pick up rentals of other water crafts.
Lake Almanor in Almanor, CA
Lake Almanor is a short drive north from Chico as well and is home to some of the greatest fishing in Northern California. Family campgrounds are endless as are RV parks. Located within the Lassen National Forest, Lake Almanor boasts a welcoming aura to campers and explorers. The area is full of places to eat and shop in addition to being home to over 300 camp sites. Enjoy boating and hiking around the lake and take some time to relax with the locals at any one of the eateries. By sundown, it’s back to the campground for roasted marshmallows and campfire songs.

Black Butte Lake is located about 30-miles east of Chico in Orland, CA. The lake is prime for fishing, boating, recreation and camping. It is situated near Interstate 5 so traveling to it, is easy.
