A beach seashore theme is one of the easiest you can use for a bathroom. Since the space is typically small, it won’t take much to convert a boring neutral background into something more exciting. For adults, stick to natural seashore shades like white sand or ocean blue. For a child’s bathroom, you can get more playful with bright colors and décor ideas that are fun-like a beach ball. Make a trip to the bathroom like a day at the spa, or at least the ocean.
Seashells, Seashells Everywhere
Implement seashells in your hardware. For example, you could install seashell embellished curtain tiebacks and bathroom fixtures. Glue plastic starfish to a plain white bathroom caddy or a toilet paper holder. Find a small goldfish bowl and pour clean beach sand in it. Position a few shells in the sand. You could also fill a wicker basket with shells, starfish or sand dollars. Place the basket on a vanity tabletop. Spring for seashell-shaped soaps and a seashell nightlight.
Freshen Up Towels
Purchase sand-colored hand towels and roll them up uniformly. Tuck them inside a wicker basket. Position the basket on a bathroom vanity or a table. You could also mix the colors; try light blue, sand and ivory towels. If it’s a child’s bathroom, use the colors of a beach ball like bright red, yellow and blue. Stuff these towels in a plastic beach pail and place it next to the bathtub.
Beach Seashore Rugs
Bathrooms are much safer with a rug on the floor. Combine functionality with style! Choose terrycloth rugs shaped like shells, tropical flowers or giant flip flops. Bathroom rugs that look like beach towels are wonderful choices too! If you want to emulate the look of a beach, select a rug in a sandy white color.
Playful Beach Toys
Children adore beach balls and they look festive hanging from a ceiling. They should be hanging high enough that kids can’t catch them, just see them. Use an oversized beach pail as a wastepaper basket. You could also paint a boring garbage pail to look like a beach ball. Use acrylic paint to dress up your liquid soap dispenser.
