Spirit Week has once again arrived a Palos Hills High. Tamara is, of course, in charge of Spirit Week festivities and Jenna is supposed to be helping. However, Jenna is still reeling from Eva answering Matty’s door and not letting her in and is running late. When Tamara calls, Jenna launches into the reason she’s late and verbally slaughters Eva…who in true awkward fashion is the one who called Jenna, on Tamara’s phone because Tamara was too busy with everything else to make the phone call herself. Oops.
Jenna arrives at school with a “bitch pitch” in her voice about Eva. Tamara tells Jenna to stop moping about Matty and to throw herself into a task (because throwing herself onto another guy is ill-advisable at this point and her “box” needs a break), and offers her co-captaincy of Senior Spirit Week. Jenna declines the offer and they get to work. Jake and Matty are not helping with Spirit Week this year as Matty is essentially following Jake around like a puppy dog.
Then walk in the sophomore girls who hang all over Jake and Matty like they’ve never seen a cute boy before. The “sophomore sluts” as Jenna and Tamara call them. They all dress like mini-prostitutes and as a fun new twist all have strands of colors in their hair which apparently have different meanings. Eva explains, “Orange means they’re willing to kiss, pink bj’s, red they’re willing to go all the way, and silver backdoor, front door, basement and attic.” The whoredrobe code as they call it. Then of course in walks Val sporting all of the colors, obviously unaware of what they mean.
So Spirit Week rages on, the first contest is “Chubby Bunny,” a contest in which the participants must shove marshmallows in their mouths and attempt to clearly say “chubby bunny” while doing so. The sophomores win by a landslide as McKenzie (the sophomore slut commanding Matty’s attention these days) seductively and suggestively places the marshmallows in her mouth.
The second contest is the hallway decoration contest. The sophomore sluts win again, this time with a raunchy Adam and Eve style theme complete with twerking in loin cloths. And finally the big contest, a flag football game between the senior girls and the sophomore girls. Tamara is up so late the night before practice catfishing Jake that Jenna takes over as coach. As her dad tutors her in football, her mom and Allie tutor her in the ways of the sophomore sluts who apparently have been the thorn in the senior girls’ side since the dawn of time.
Game day arrives, and no senior boys are cheering for the senior girls because Jake and Matty are not participating. Tamara throws a fit and Jake leads all the senior boys (except for the weirdo Kyle) to the sophomore cheering section. The senior girls are getting their behinds handed to them and at halftime Jenna’s speech fails to inspire and Sadie steps in saying, “I say we go out there and kick those sluts’ asses. Are you with me bitches?” And the team takes to the field.
Jenna finds herself face-to-face with McKenzie and the two get into a verbal sparring match which ends when McKenzie yanks on Jenna’s hair. Eva steps in when Jenna hesitates to retaliate, “If you don’t do it, I will.” And so begins the brawl. Jenna later thanks Eva for having her back out there to which Eva replies that she never would have acted the way she did if she knew Jenna and Matty had dated and that it is “chicks before dicks always.”
Throughout the episode Sadie attempts to manipulate Lissa into giving up her position as cheer captain, but Val does not allow it offering to bash Lissa’s hand with a large tape dispenser to give her a legitimate excuse for resigning as caption.
Matty is still rebelling because he found out he was adopted. He attempts to confront his mother who lectures him on a dent in his truck when the topic of “something in the garage” comes up. Matty quits his job and in the final moments of the episode, decides to “ghost ride the whip” and accidentally allows the truck to crash into a construction zone as he chases after it.
