There are a number of museums to view dinosaurs face-to-face. It doesn’t just include their skeleton, but even their movements. Dinosaur museums give you a more close up and personal experience with dinosaurs. Here a few of the best below:
Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center- Woodland Park, Colorado
It contains more than 30 life-size prehistoric specimens. Each skeleton represents their appearance, when they were living. It also represents where they lived and also their discovery. The Center houses the most spectacular fish, reptiles, and dinosaurs, from the late cretaceous age. This includes the Albertosaurus libratus, Mosasaur, and the Bambiraptor. They even have impressive 3-D giants on display, such as Xiphactinus. Your kids will be able to construct their own dinosaurs, using magnets or other art supplies. They will also be able to look inside the Paleontology Lab, to see scientists working on their latest field discoveries.
Field Museum Of Natural History- Chicago, Illinois
It includes a display of the most complete and best-preserved T-rex fossil in the world. T-rex, known as Sue, weighs 600 pounds and has 58 teeth. She is the main attraction at the entrance. Field Museum also have displays of every major dinosaur group, in the Genius Hall of Dinosaurs. Other exhibits include the Evolving Planet. It represents the last 4 billion years of evolutionary dinosaur features. The smaller kids can participate in Dozin’ with the Dinos. This program allows your kids to sleep under the belly of T-rex and his friends. It also includes tours and other activities.
Dinosaur Journey Museum- Fruita, Colorado
This is a hands-on, interactive museum, which celebrates paleontology. They house a number of dinosaurs, such as Stegosaurus and Velociraptor. They even have impressive creations that demonstrate the movement of dinosaurs. The museum also has a reading room, where the kids can read great dino-books. Other activites include creating dinosaur tracks and hunting for Jurassic bones. This is one of the best museums to learn about dinosaurs.
