A few weeks ago I wrote an article about spring 2014 fashion trends. For me, a killer outfit is nothing without accessories. So here are some accessories to add to your ensemble this summer.
Pearls– Whether you wear a single strand or a whole bunch of mixed and matched lengths, pearls are a great way to add class and a bit of trendiness to almost any outfit. A classic for professional attire, pearls are now making appearances with more casual clothes like jeans and a t-shirt. It’s a great way to dress up a neutral outfit. Check out these faux pearl strands from Forever 21. Affordable and chic all in one.
Cuffs– We’re not talking about the cuffs on a dress shirt. Cuffs, as in large, bulky, thick bracelets. They can be made from leather, various kinds of metal, they can even be woven and embellished. These are statement bracelets, perfect for adding some drama to a sleek black outfit. This cuff from The Outnet is perfect with an understated black dress.
Floral Hair Accessories– As the flowers are blooming outside, let your hair in on the action with some of these floral headbands and barrettes. You can pin one side of your hair behind your ear with a flower clip, or hold all of your hair back with a floral embellished headband. There are lots of way to let your hair bloom. Consider this headband from Asos:
Nautical- For the men in the audience, nautical-inspired shoes are a big hit. Even if you aren’t going yachting, boating shoes are a must-have for the summer. These here from Zappos pair perfectly with knee-length khaki shorts and a grey or white T-shirt. This look can work well for a morning at the farmer’s market or a lunch date. Your lady will thank you.
Strappy Sandals– This one is a perennial favorite for women everywhere. This summer look for Grecian inspired sandals. Also popular this season is shiny gold too. Mix the two trends and opt for a gold, strappy sandal like this one here from Amazon. Pair with a maxi skirt and a racer back tank. If you like to show off your toned gams, opt for a miniskirt
