The train is a sightseeing ride through the Connecticut River Valley. You can enjoy the train ride from the dining car. There is also the Valley Railroad Circus train. It is bound to be an adventure for kids of all ages and even the young at heart. While the Train travels along the Connecticut River; the Riverboat journeys the Connecticut River also.
Amusement and Water Parks:
Connecticut has such theme parks as; Lake Compounce Theme Park, Coco Key Water Resort, Lighthouse Point Park and Satan’s Kingdom Recreation Area, just to name a few.
As for history, there is the Fight for Independence. Connecticut played an important role in the American Revolution and the historical spots still tell us the American story. There are places that were George Washington’s Headquarters for part of the Revolution. There is the American Clock and Watch Museum, the Textile and History Museum, and the site of the 1777 battle with a British cannonball still there. There is also the Solders’ and Sailors’ Monument located at New Haven’s East Rock Park.
Seafood, fresh off the boats with lobster to start the summer season, the Hebron Maple Festival and in July the Connecticut Wine Festival also the Milford Oyster Festival are all a good place to start.
Connecticut is an eventful and exciting state to visit any time of the year; starting with the Flower and Garden Show and Chocolate festival in February, March the Connecticut Spring Antique Show, June the is the International Arts and Idea, and August there is the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival. Every month there is something going on in Connecticut for everyone in the family to enjoy.
