Graduation gifts are usually looked at as gifts that will help the graduate survive a new chapter in their lives whether going on to further education, entering the workforce, or enlisting into the military. If these bright paths do not apply to the graduate then planning on investing in a futon wouldn’t sound like a bad choice. If the graduate does plan on doing something with their life post graduation here’s a list of gifts that will get everyday use after their last “official” summer vacation is over.
Portable USB – If you’re a grandmother, a portable USB is one of those things David Caruso saves case data on to solve a crime in an hour. Your grandchildren need them to not necessarily for private eye work, but, to save paperwork, music, videos, or other data to another computer without lugging a laptop or other device everywhere they go. USB drives can come relatively small and some can even fit on a keychain. Maybe (if you’re a grandmother) you should add some of the dazzling casino keychains you’ve collected since retirement to the USB keychain as well so it doesn’t get lost.
Speakers (compatible with phones) – Having a speaker compatible with the grad’s phone is excellent due to the fact no wires or cables are involved (as most are operated through Bluetooth if compatible.) Some speakers may even include a “docking bay” in which the device can charge as well as provide music for whatever task is at hand. Most speakers are relatively small (some are about the size of a coffee mug) but can produce sound large enough to provide a soundtrack for an outdoor party. These speakers are normally universal for all phones but staying on the safe side and knowing what product the phone device is made for will ensure the product’s efficiency.
Mobile Printer – A mobile printer can be used for work, family, or recreation which makes it a “must have” product. Some can run pricey, but, being able to print information from a phone, laptop, or digital camera at any location of your choosing makes the product worth every dollar. Whether on the go, in a rush, or printing digital prints at a barmitzvah before Grandpa Greenbaum’s cataracts take over his vision, mobile printers are the way to go.
As a past graduate, these would have been the best options as opposed to the options I made for myself when I was a graduate, which was an Interpol CD and skateboard. With that being said, even “know it all” types need gadgets to help their better decision making for their future.
