I love to read! Reading takes me to a place that is adventurous and awesome, and I’m betting if you’re reading this you feel the same. These are just some great series to get your hands on if you need something great to read.
The Harry Potter Series
Probably the most popular fantasy series of our age. A young boy prophesied to defeat the greatest dark wizard of the age begins school at Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The idea is original, and the author did a great job writing the books. They kept me thoroughly interested throughout each and every book.
The Inheritance Series
Eragon is a young man that comes upon a dragon egg, and raises it while battling the tyranny of King Galbatorix and his empire. Even more entertaining than Harry Potter is this author’s form of writing. Christopher Paolini does a great job telling the story, and I was privileged to have read them.
The Lost Years of Merlin Series
This series is just as awesome as the rest, but nearly unheard of in our generation. Get the word out! Merlin finds the place of his birth, an in between world where the spirit world and real world touch. Many challenges await him, but many good surprises as well as he travels the Isle of Fincayra.
The Codex Alera Series
This is another series that many in our generation have not heard of. Maybe because of poor publicity, I honestly don’t know, but I do know that I ate these books up in about two weeks. I couldn’t get enough. Young Tavi does his utmost to defend his country from threats of war, but as they fight a new enemy begins to rise. This enemy threatens the entire earth. The series is thrilling as it is enjoyable. I highly recommend reading these if you loved any of the previous series listed.
The Dresden Files
I’ve never been a fan of urban fantasy. I was all about the medieval thing you know? But the Dresden Files completely changed that, which is saying something. Wizard, Harry Dresden, fights to protect the innocent, and loved ones as he fights waves of enemies that threaten Chicago and the earth. His adventures throughout the series are thrilling, and put a brand new spin on the image of the wizard. In fact you better go to the library right now and check the first book of this series out.
I hope you find some of these books strike your fancy like they did me. Enjoy!
