San Diego attracts so many great musical acts that sometimes it’s hard to keep track of who’s coming to town. This year, stay on top of the music scene with this 2014 concert-goers guide.
It’s hard to go wrong with the alternative music scene in San Diego. Local bands and upcoming artists frequent venues like Soma, Soda Bar, Casbah, and Belly Up Tavern, but for bigger names, look to the bigger theaters and the trusty House of Blues.

The Warped Tour comes to town on June 25 with bands like Mayday Parade and Anberlin (tickets start at $47.50). Also look out for the beachside festivals hosted every year by FM 94/9. SPF 94/9 and Independence Jam are usually in June and September, and tickets last year cost less than $20 each.
It’s a good year to be a San Diego country fan. The Sleep Train Amphitheater is hosting lots of huge names this year on one “Megaticket.” Starting at $251, you can see multiple nights of fantastic artists including Brad Paisley (3/21) Lady Antebellum (3/22), Tim McGraw (5/17), Rascal Flatts (8/17), and Black Shelton (9/6).
Whether you’re into the chill sounds of Jack Johnson or the spectacle that is Lady Gaga, San Diego isn’t letting you down in 2014. Here’s just a sample of some of the acts playing in town this year.
