Harebrained jocks, nerds with high intelligence, and many in between have all been united in the act of playing videogames; the internet has made this solidarity and gamesmanship possible. There have been several online multiplayer games released. Some of them were quickly forgotten, and others became as legendary as the internet itself. The following are 10 of the best online multiplayer games of all time.
I only mention the 2014 version because that is the latest in a terrific line of games at the time I am writing this. You think it is difficult beating someone while you control everything on your team, adding multiplayer for a two on two match is something that presents several thrilling challenges.
Half Life 2
There are several multiplayer games that take you on a wild ride, but perhaps Half Life 2 takes the cake for one of the best adventure games out there. The story driven game is beautifully done, with a nod to the designers.
Mass Effect 3
Shoot down randomized enemies in short but exciting levels. I love games where you make a desperate last stand against enemy forces; there is something about Mass Effect 3 that just gets my blood rushing. It’s great.
This game is pleasurable in the sense that each player can turn himself or herself into a thief, wizard, or warrior at any time. The unique thing about the multiplayer game is that there can be two thieves at once, thus double the grapple hooking, swinging awesomeness.
Left 4 Dead 2
Another last-ditch effort to make a last stand, but this time against masses of bloodthirsty zombies? Yeah, this game is fun. Team up with up to four total players for one exciting ride.
It is sometimes fun to build whatever structures the mind can imagine with a few clicks. This game is quite stimulating and fun.
Supreme Commander is one of those games that can be incredibly complicated. That’s why it is nice to have teammates helping you master plans to survive.
Dawn of War: Last Stand
The Last Stand version of this game allows you only one hero each, as you battle your way to eventual death against up to twenty levels of difficult enemies. Each level becomes more arduous and I can’t say I’ve ever beat wave 20.
Play each campaign with a group of up to 4 players; be amazed at what gadget pops up and use it against batty enemies.
The guns of this game make the waves of mutants attacking you quite welcoming. Fend them off with up to six players.
