Doug Marrone who was born on July 25, 1964 in Bronx, New York. He is the Head Coach for the Buffalo Bills and been playing and coaching in the NFL since 1987.

Doug Marrone was an offensive lineman for Syracuse University from 1983-1985.
Doug Marrone played two years in the NFL with he Miami Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints. He finished his professional career as a player with the World league in Europe playing for the London Monarchs in 1991-1992.
Doug Marrone spent ten years coaching a various colleges and and varying positions. Starting in 1992, he coached Cortland State, Coast Guard, Northeastern University, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia and the University of Tennessee. He coached primarily the offensive line and the Tight End position since a blocking TE is an extension of the OL.
Doug Marrone first job inn the NFL as a coach was with the New York Jets who hied him in 2002 to be their offensive line coach. He stayed with the Jets thru the 2005 season when The New Orleans Saints offered him the job as Offensive Coordinator in 2006 and he stayed thru 2008.
Doug Marrone went back to the college ranks to his alma mater, Syracuse and on December 11, 2008 was hired to be their head coach. The last time an alumni was the head of the football team was in 1948. Marrone’s hiring was because of the vocal support from NFL Hall of Fame alumni, Floyd Little and NFL commentator and Alumni Tim Green.
Doug Marrone in four years coaching the Syracuse Orangemen compiled a 25-25 win/loss record but won two Pinstripe Bowl games in 2010 and 2012.
Doug Marrone in 2012 split a share of the Big East Title when all four teams had tie records of 8-5 but they beat the West Virginia Mountaineers for the second straight time in the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City.
Doug Marrone on January 6, 2013 was hired o replace former Buffalo Bills Head Coach Chan Gailey.
Doug Marrone has coached under two NFL head coaches: Herm Edwards and Sean Payton. Former Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine who is now the Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns coached the Buffalo Bills defense in Marrone’s first year. He has coached under 5 collegiate head coaches: Bill Schmitz, Barry Gallup, George O’Leary, Jim Donnan, and Phillip Fulmer
Doug Marrone first year in 2013 coaching the Buffalo Bills was marred by injury to QB E.J. Manuel who he went out on a limb to draft in the first round with the overall #16 in the 2013 NFL draft. This move alone will define how long he stays a head coach in the NFL. Between the death of the owner and this move, I don’t give him very long unless they dramatically improve which I don’t see happening.
