Before I begin I would like to say SPOILER ALERT! Stop reading if you haven’t seen X-Men days of Future Past and you don’t want any information on the movie. I don’t want to ruin an excellent movie for my audience.
X-Men Days of Future Past has changed everything. The X-Men have saved their future by traveling to the past and altering it. There is no uncertainty in my mind that this past X-Men movie has been the finest of the series. At first my thoughts were what a great way to end a series. However the more I think about it, is it really over? I am already aware that there will be an “Apocalypse” and “Gambet” film in the making soon to add to the X-Men legacy. Many reports suggest that Channing Tatum will be starring in the Gambet role.
The Butterfly effect is explained in many different ways but one way it is explained is when an event of the past has been changed, a ripple of effect changes other events of the future. The Butterfly effect could bring endless possibilities to change the X-Men Series. Everything looked perfect at the end of the X-Men Days of Future Past movie. Jean was alive and healthy. Logan was a teacher instead of a lonely drifter searching for his past. Professor X was also still headmaster of the school and looked well. Everything looked perfect in the X-Men world. As perfect as it looked, I cannot think of anything better than another film. Not only new villains could be introduced into the series but hero’s as well. This ripple from the butterfly effect could bring in tons of ideas from writers.
There is an age problem however with the original cast. It would not make any sense for Hugh Jackman to be playing a 25 year old Wolverine anymore. However the Cast of X-Men First Class would be very much appropriate for these films if they were ever created. This would give Fox a chance to make many more movies with the original cast of X-Men First Class and an abundant amount of time to do it in.
