Days of Future Past featured a new character than many were unfamiliar with. The future heroes had a new female hero named Blink working with them. Blink was part of the team of future X-Men on the run from the Sentinels trying to stay one step ahead of the invasions. Blink was killed by Sentinels in both of the future encounters. These events were changed by the successful attempt of Wolverine to alter the past and change the timeline. The timeline with the Sentinel attacks was stopped and the events never took place.
Blink’s real name is Clarice Ferguson and she was taken from her parents by Apocalypse. Blink became a member of the X-Men after being rescued from the camp by Sabretooth. Sabretooth took the young girl into his care and trained her to use her abilities. Sabretooth also taught Blik how to survive in the harsh environment of the Apocalypse era.
Powers and Abilities
Blink has the ability to create portals that allow her to teleport herself or others to a different place. Blink can open these portals at will and give others the opportunity to escape from harm or simply transport from one location to another.
Blink is also able to deliver devastating attacks because she is able to teleport parts of inanimate objects. Blink would have the ability to cut a Sentinel in half with that kind of power. Her teleportation power was seen in Days of Future Past removing arms and legs from enemy Sentinels by creating a teleportation portal around the Sentinel and then closing it.
Blink also carries small javelins that are used for extra assault ability. Blink can throw a javelin and then create a teleportation portal to strike enemies at a distance. Blink has great expertise with the javelin and uses hem with deadly accuracy.
Clarice was trained in a variety of fighting styles and formats to help combat the ongoing threat posed by Apocalypse. She is an expert in martial arts and various hand to hand combat techniques. Blink can use her various fighting techniques in combination with her teleportation abilities to deliver incredibly powerful attacks on the enemy.
Blink is actually connected with the Apocalypse story line and it is likely that we may see more of her in X-Men Apocalypse. Blink was captured and placed in an internment camp during the Age of Apocalypse. Apocalypse ruled the world and attempted to control the mutant population through various internment camps. The goal was to find mutants that could easily be controlled or genetically manipulated to doing the will of Apocalypse.
