The biggest wrestling event of the year is set for Sunday April 6. Wrestlemania 30 has the chance to be a big one, pending the creative team pushing the right wrestlers. Here’s a look at my predictions for the scheduled main event matches.
Big Show Wins the Andre the Giant Battle Royale
As disappointing as it will be to see the predictable winner of this match to be The Big Show, he deserves it. Big Show has had few positive moments at Wrestlemania and winning this match could give him one last triumph. A man who came into the wrestling spotlight credited as the son of Andre the Giant, he is the perfect man to win the Battle Royale from that alone. However, as a match with little reward in winning just about anyone can be victorious. The only guarantee is that Big Show will be involved heavily and one of the last men standing.
Bray Wyatt defeats John Cena
Thanks to interference or blatantly cheating, Bray Wyatt will defeat John Cena at Wrestlemania. This is what needs to happen as a changing of the guard. Cena beating Wyatt stops his momentum completely. Wyatt beating Cena can either continue the feud with Cena eventually coming out on top, something I have no problem with, or elevate Wyatt to main event status. Either way, I see Wyatt coming out on top.
The Undertaker defeats Brock Lesnar
Picking this match is like shooting a blind goldfish in a small cup of water. There is absolutely no reason to believe Brock Lesnar has a shot at defeating The Undertaker. The streak on the line against a part-time wrestler, the only question in this match is whether or not Lesnar can redeem himself from his poor match against Triple H at Wrestlemania 29. As for The Undertaker, I have no doubts he will be at his best.
Daniel Bryan defeats Triple H
Another predictable match, Daniel Bryan will beat Triple H. The entire show would come to a halt if Triple H was to win and Bryan is buried midway through the event. The only other possible outcome would be a draw where both are then placed into the main event, which is almost just as likely and could be more exciting.
Daniel Bryan wins the WWE Title
The guaranteed opponents in the match will be Batista and Randy Orton, as well as the possibility of Triple H. Whoever he’s facing, Daniel Bryan will walk out of Wrestlemania with the WWE Title. Chants of “Yes! Yes! Yes!” are the perfect way to end the show. The story writes itself. Anything short of that or John Cena running out and turning heel (not a very good idea in this moment) Wrestlemania needs to end with the hottest wrestler in a long time as the new face of the company.
