Flexjobs is a website that lists hundreds of jobs from various categories. Many of these jobs include telecommuting which is working from home. There are new jobs listed on a daily basis. Over 600,000 people have joined Flexjobs. Most work at home programs and ads are a scam, but this website is legitimate. I learned about this from the New York State Department of Labor which is the unemployment office. They only list legitimate sites to help people find jobs so they can get stop receiving unemployment benefits.
Some categories include writing (freelance), translating, Science, telemarketing, education, sports, news & journalism, sales, beauty, entertainment. There are many more. When I applied for freelance writing jobs, I was asked to download a resume plus writing samples.
Anyone can go to the website www.flexjobs.com and view the job listings for free. If you decide to apply for a job, then you need to log in with a username and password. There is also a fee to apply for any job. You can either pay $14.95 for one month, or you can pay $49.95 for an entire year.
When you click on a job, an entire description is listed. It tells you if it is a work at home or traveling job, the salary that they pay, requirements that an applicant should have, and if it is a part time/full time or flexible job.
The website also has many skill taking tests to see which categories fit you best. There are more than 80 tests and they range from office skill tests to English grammar and writing tests. These tests also help the employers see if you are a good fit for a particular job. Most tests take about an hour to complete. You may also be surprised to see that you tested well in a certain area and may qualify for a particular job category.
If you would like to work from home and cannot decide if this is for you, I encourage you to check out the testimonials. If you get turned down at first, don’t get discouraged because there are hundreds of jobs. Eventually you will find something that will be suitable for you.
