Skidmore College in June. Wow! For many of us it was like going home, reminiscent of the “Remember the Magic” conferences we so loved for all those years. Slightly different in nature, Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions gather not only writers and artists, but women activists from all walks of life, professions, and occupations – passionate women striving to change the world.
Several of the attendees from last year and those looking forward to attending this year sat down and shared some of their thoughts about the Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions experience. All carry a common thread.
Efy McDonnell – Photographer and Writer: “Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions was such a wonderful and amazing time for me! I met women artists from the east coast, west coast, parts in between, and Canada too, like-minded artists sharing their art. Sharing, just sharing. Held on the beautiful campus of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs NY, I am so happy I said yes to attending!
“I became part of a sisterhood. I found my tribe! I loved our sharing time during breakfast, lunch and dinner. And the EVE talks and of course the singing and dancing! The sharing and networking have been incredible. I was able to finish and self-publish my book Healing through Divine Light: Journey in Photos. I arrived feeling pure excitement and went home with a full heart. What blessing for me! It still continues daily! Looking forward to June for sure!”
Marsha L. Browne Writer – Videographer and Political Activist: “A goddess camp in every way, Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions is a place where hearts, minds and spirits joined in glorious creative outpouring that ended with us shattering into a million shards of directed energy.
“We all left knowing what we had to do next and where we needed to focus our efforts aimed at healing the world. Writing, music, dance, sculpture, photographs, weaving, painting, videos – if the soul could express the need, the realization was imminent and extraordinary.”
Amy Temple – Artist and Writer: “I am going to attend Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions seminar in June because a friend of mine told me about it after attending last year. She said it was like the other conferences only on steroids – Inspirational, vibrant, and invigorating! Who could ask for more in a conference?”
Judith Prest – Creativity Coach, Poet, and Mixed Media Artist: “I attended Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions last year and looked forward to it because I knew it would be a good event. It was BEYOND good. The energy of women sharing their skills, their art, their writing and their visions for a vibrant world was a peak experience.
“I loved the mix of performance, music, poetry, art, social justice and all the other wonderful touches that went into making this symposium a huge success. I plan to attend the full program this year and I am LOOKING FORWARD!!”
Sandra Mattucci – Artist, Story-Teller, and Author: “It is not about what happened at Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions 2013. It is about everything that happened! How could one not RETURN!” The Symposium will be held June 19-22. We hope to see you all there!
