This is my basic thoughts on having a DVR in my past vs not having one now. Sure it was nice to own such luxury. To think a tool that can record all my shows on cable while I am not at home or want to simply watch again. Sure that sounds like great news to me! I proceed to take the offer and start recording shows that I am missing or simply can’t watch because I am watching another show. After so long I continue to enjoy it but find myself not wanting to program it as often. A few months later I am still the same way but now realizing my cable bill is going up and for what? I finally realize where the extra charges was coming from and that was my DVR. I proceed to find some kind of solid ground so I could keep it. I then kept it a bit longer to realize my bill isn’t going to change as long as I want this device. I made the choice my cable bill will go down one way or the other by that point DVR is not being taking out of the house and returned. My bill was lowered the following month. Before my bill was reduced I was thinking to myself “Oh no all the shows I recorded are gone” Then I started to think about how I never got around to watching any of them so I probably never would of. Next thing you know its coming back to me like it was before I even owned a DVR I started using the guide channel and finding shows the old way like I used to. Turns out it made me more happy. I was excited about certain shows coming on and giving me a time to be there and ready to watch it. Also gave me excuses of why I couldn’t do certain things when it came to my entertainment time. Life started looking a bit better and simple from removing something so costly that wasn’t needed. In the end I was glad I gave it a chance but happier once it was gone.
