Many people have tried the Paleo diet. I was one of them. The Paleo diet is all about nutrition, and what is really healthy for your body. Some people really like this sort of diet. I was not one of them. Here is why I am giving up on the Paleo diet:
What Paleo Is
Mostly the Paleo diet is about eating whole foods. The diet is about staying away from refined and process foods. Ideally you only want to put nature foods into your body. You will be eating mostly meats, seafood, vegetables, and fruits on the Paleo diet. You add lots of spices to your food to add some spice to your meals. This meal plan is basically supposed to be a very healthy way to eat.
Not Losing Weight
One of the main reasons why I wanted to try the Paleo diet is because I wanted to lose weight in a healthy manner. Many people lose weight on this meal plan. Unfortunately, I was not one of them. The truth is I actually gained weight. I think there might have just been too much protein for me in this type of diet.
Too Much Meat
I have to be honest. I have thought many times about becoming a vegetarian. I am just not a meat eater. Occasionally I might have meat in my meals, but it is so rare. I really cannot stand to eat red meat. Maybe a couple times a year you might catch me eating a cheeseburger, but otherwise red meat is not in my diet. The only meat I sometimes eat is chicken, but even that is not a ton. There was just too much meat required in this diet for me to enjoy my meals.
Literally the Paleo diet made my stomach upset. Yes, it is great to get rid of all the processed foods. However, the raw foods made a mess of my stomach. I think the spices had a ton to do with that. On the Paleo diet you season your food a lot. My stomach was not a fan of the spices.
My stomach is very sensitive so I am not allowed to eat foods with seeds or nuts in it. Many of the foods on the Paleo diet have these ingredients in them. It took a lot of work to make sure my food did not have seeds in them. So, this required a ton of cutting up and chopping, and I like things to be quick and simple when I make my meals. The reasons I am giving up on the Paleo diet are many. For some people the Paleo diet is perfect, but for me it is not. This is why I gave up the Paleo diet.
