Not everyone is blessed with allergies and I say that sarcastically, but for those who don’t experience this unwelcome condition count your blessings. Allergies are nothing to sneeze at but then again yes they are but what are the real facts about them?
Allergies are all in your head – Psychosomatic condition “all in your mind” is it possible that allergies are just that? There are those that believe this to be the case and that you can control these things can be thought away. There are many more facts that lean towards this being a falsehood but no one knows your mind better than you. Depending on your age and situation I again stress checking with your doctor if you feel you suffer from allergies.
You can’t die from allergies – According to one source you stand a much higher chance of being murdered than you do dying from a food allergy reaction. You can research the numbers regarding deaths from allergies specific to your allergies for more information. One such number is that allergies are developed in on in ten children and let’s face it, we need to see their doctor and manage this with a professional
Lactose intolerance is a milk allergy – A very common allergy that affects children is to milk. Although most children outgrow this condition and they do so around the age of 3. Many children who are allergic to milk are also allergic to eggs and they usually outgrow this by the time they reach adolescence.
Allergies are harmless – If left untreated allergies have a negative affect on other conditions you may be experiencing, some of these include:
- skin disorders (urticaris & eczema or even hives)
When it comes to your food allergies you can develop potential reactions that can be life threatening. For example insect bites can have a reaction called anaphylaxis, this is where your system has a possible deadly reaction.
If you allergic to peanuts, a little bit is OK – If a person is extremely allergic to peanuts, they may have a life threatening or deadly reaction when ingesting even the smallest amount. There may be others who are not so severely allergic and may be able to consume small amounts without experiencing any affects at all. It is always best to consult your doctor and follow his directions when dealing with your own allergy, he knows you and your conditions better than anyone.
Always be on the safe side and check with you doctor regarding any conditions, medications and treatments. Early detection and treatment of any condition is a good practice to follow.
