Disney princesses are much more than a pretty faces in elegant dresses that are put together by a wave of singing birds. These movies teach children around the world valuable life lessons that go beyond “sharing is caring.” The lessons are beautifully woven into these beloved fairy tales.
1. Rapunzel | Tangled
Rapunzel taught us that it’s beneficial to venture outside of your comfort zone. She raced out of her life-long castle and found that the rewards were much worth it. After all, life begins when you exit your comfort zone.
2. Belle | Beauty and the Beast
It’s pretty obvious what Belle taught us – Never judge a book by it’s cover. Just because someone isn’t the best looking on the outside doesn’t mean they aren’t beautiful on the inside, you never know unless you give them a chance.
3. Ariel | The Little Mermaid
No person is ever worth giving up everything about who you are which is the lesson that Ariel taught us in The Little Mermaid . No matter how much you may love someone, is it really worth losing yourself for?
4. Aurora | Sleeping Beauty
Aurora is the Disney princess who taught us that there is no use trying to run from fate. Avoiding fate usually just leads us right towards it.
5. Pocahontas | Pocahontas
Pocahontas is proof that not everyone always gets a happy ending and that if you don’t get your fairy tale happy ending, that life eventually goes on in a more positive direction.
6. Tiana | The Princess and the Frog
In The Princess and the Frog , Tiana taught us that sometimes hard work is necessary. Also that you should always appreciate the time that you have with others and to never lose sight of those who love you because they will be the ones that stick with you until the end.
7. Jasmine | Aladdin
Jasmine from Aladdin teaches us the importance of paying attention to the people around you. Not only should you not be so paranoid but maybe that creepy guy looking at you may actually be the one who saves your life.
8. Cinderella | Cinderella
Cinderella teaches an important life lesson – it doesn’t matter where you come from or what your past consisted of, it is still important to hold onto your dreams because they do come true.
9. Princess Anna | Frozen
Princess Anna shows girls everywhere that they do not need a man to save them! Not every princess needs a prince to come sweep her off of her feet and often times the “romance” that we are looking for doesn’t need to come from a man, the girl who knows you the best: Your sister.
These princesses have been keeping children captivated with their magical stories and amazing life lessons for decades and will continue to do so for many years to come. Who is your favorite Disney princess?
