Number one: Of all the things I could do; why do I want to do this?
Anyone starting a business whether for the first time start-up or for the tenth time; should have a clear idea of why he/she thinks this business idea will fly. If he/she cannot answer this in 20 seconds than maybe they need to rethink their idea. https://www.SBA.gov, https://www.Inc.com
Number two: What is not negotiable?
What are the things I am passionate about that cannot be cut out of the business plan no matter what? By asking this question I have a guide for making business decisions. I can better look at what is important to my business and my customers.
Number three: Who are the target customers?
I want to know exactly who I want to do business with and is my target base too narrow that I cannot make a successful business.
Number four: What is the difference between this and any other business?
How does this business stand out so that my customers will want to do business with me? I want my business to offer the best product or service.
Number five: What location?
Location, location, location; location is everything. If my business is off a side street, off a side street how are people going to find me?
Number six: Will I need a loan?
I have to make a business plan that lender’s want to back. I also need to ask myself how much I need to borrow. The business plan has to include start-up costs, advertising fees and wages. It also should cover the expenses for at least the first year and maybe the second year as well.
Number seven: How many employees?
The number of employees I need and the number of hours they will work will play a big factor in my business plan.
Number eight: What supplies will be needed to start up?
Again, supplies are going to play a major role in the business plan. I need to make a list of everything I will need to run my business for at least one year. I need to also decide where I will get these supplies.
Number nine: who is my closest competition?
I will have to visit the competition to see just how they run their business. I need to ask myself what are they doing that I want to do better.
