Hey guys and girls. Do you remember how much you would run in school endlessly without getting tired? Short recess, long recess, after school, before school in class if your teacher was not there! Were you ever out of breath? I don’t think so. Primarily we were all born to run!
We Are Born To Run!
Try doing that now. Run when you wake up, Run to office up four floors, Run at home as you get ready, Run after lunch, Run home from office, Run before you sleep and see what happens
You don’t have to do it, just imagine yourself doing it and how tired that would make you? It would have killed me a few months ago. Even though I can jog today more than I could a few months ago, it just reminds me that I was actually “Born to Run”, but somewhere as I grew, I was nowhere near what I was in school.
My friends and I would compete on sports day and I would either come second or third with a silver or bronze medal. A few months ago, I would not even be able to complete a jog of 500 meters. Did you have the same problem? I did. That is where I decided to pen this thought to know whether there are any one of you who have felt the same or am I the only one who got lost somewhere. When in school, I used to chase a bus to catch it. Now I would say, let me take the next one…
My competitors at school were Rohan Wagle, Oswin Rodrigues, Rohan Kulkarni. I can remember them distinctly and not many others, however it feels quite bad to know that I could not jog for 400 meters wherein at one time I could run 400 meters at a great speed…
We are all “Born to Run” but as we grow up we lose on that art of running to work, lifestyle changes etc. etc.
I really hope that we all can get back on track to running and jogging for our and our family’s sake. I read a lot about how things are going wrong and people are going from fit to obese because of their lifestyle changes, but I think with so many changes just one change from our end to counter all our lifestyle changes is enough! Running. Yeah let me know if you agree or disagree.
Waiting for your thoughts.
