We the people of the United States
Bow our heads in shame.
For letting the people in Washington
Use us to play their game.
They turn deaf ears to what we say,
And vie for the next election,
While the job that they’re supposed to do
Has become imperfection.
We elected all of them
On promises they made,
And we can vote them out again
When they don’t make the grade.
They spend more time on tree stumps,
Boasting of who they are,
Instead of filling promises.
They all have gone too far.
