Athlete’s foot is an itchy, irritating, possibly painful fungus that grows on the foot. It’s fairly common in athletes due to the fact that their feet are sweating profusely during intense physical activity. The dampness in our shoes is what encourages fungus growth. There are several ways of treating it, and it doesn’t take too long to get rid of. Until you do, however, it will drive you crazy. Here are a few ways to treat athlete’s foot.
This is an anti fungal cream that gets rid of athlete’s foot. Cover the affected area before you go to bed, and you’ll find that after several days of use, your athlete’s foot will be significantly improved. There are a few alternate ways of treating it without having to buy any over the counter creams.
Always wear a fresh pair of socks when you start the day. Wearing socks from the previous day encourages more fungus growth. As stated before, the sweaty dampness in our shoes is usually what causes it. If possible, change your socks with a fresh pair in the middle of the day. This will keep your feet drier.
It takes about 24 to 48 hours for our shoes to fully dry. If you switch to a different pair of shoes every other day, you will keep your feet all the more dry. If can’t invest in a second pair of boots or shoes, try investing in a shoe drier. I don’t believe they cost all that much. All they do is shoot a current of air into your shoes, and dry them out before the next day. The drier the better!
Put anti fungal powder in shoes
Using anti fungal powder in your shoes will help a lot too! This will not only keep your shoes and socks a little drier; it will also fight the fungus growth. This is probably the cheapest treatment. Although when I’m trying to get rid of my athlete’s foot I use all of these methods, just because I can’t stand athlete’s foot. I want it gone as soon as possible.
Go barefoot around the house
As soon as you get home after work take your shoes and socks off, and leave them off. If you let your feet sit in those damp shoes longer, you’re letting the fungus grow on your feet that much longer.
Use these methods on the daily, and I promise your athlete’s foot will be gone before you know it! Have a nice day.
