So you finally have that big first date coming up, and are trying not to be too excited or nervous about it, but can’t get it off your mind. Well, don’t feel bad, that is completely normal. But here are a few ideas to help calm the nerves or control the excitement before the big night.
Hangout with your friends. One of the best ways to calm your nerves or share your excitement is to hangout with your friends before your date. Not only will this distract you from your upcoming date, but being with your friends will allow you to truly be yourself and in your comfort zone before you are one on one with your date. And friends are always great to talk to about how you’re feeling, or what to expect. So keep them close before you get close with your date.
Listen to happy and upbeat music. When you are getting ready for your date, your mood also needs some prepping. So crank up your favorite song and let loose while you get ready for your night. Choose music that is happy and energetic so that you have a lot of energy when you meet up with your date. Your attitude and mood will also spread to your date, so if you present yourself in a happy and good mood, your date can’t help but be in that good mood too.
Don’t spend all day worrying about the date, stay busy. The actual day of your date may be a long one. And this is usually when your mind decides to take over your being. Well, don’t let it. On the hours before your date, stay extremely busy, and preoccupied with all the other things you need to get done in your life, so that you won’t even have time to worry about what your night has in store with you.
And lastly, drink lots of water if you plan on drinking that night. If you plan on drinking that night, at least prep your body for what is to come. Although getting sloppy drunk is not an option, nothing is wrong with getting a little buzzed. But if you plan on doing this, at least give your body some warning, so that it can prepare itself for later. Remember, alcohol dehydrates you, so stay hydrated so that you won’t have to leave the date a drunken mess.
So hopefully with these simple ideas, you will be able to enjoy your night even before your date happens. Good luck!
