However, do not be too worried about the condition because it is normal. But, it is important that you mention it to your personal doctor especially if it becomes worse. The doctor will give you a remedy for the condition especially so that you reduce the frequency of getting heartburn. It is not possible to completely eliminate heartburn but you can reduce it. Pregnancy heartburn ends soon after child birth.
To reduce heartburn, you need to forgo foods and beverages that trigger heartburn. Taking of alcohol is a major cause of heartburn and remember that you must not take alcohol when you are pregnant. Drinks that contain caffeine should also be eliminated from your diet. Carbonated drinks are another cause of heartburn so you must ensure that you avoid them too. Other things to get rid of include mustard, processed meats, chocolate, citrus and mint.
You might consider keeping a routine of the kind of foods you eat so that you are able to pin point foods that cause heartburn. Write down everything that you consume so that it will be easy for you to retract your meals when heartburn kicks in. Pay proper attention to any changes that occur in the event that you costume new foods. That way, you are able to know which type of food does not react well with your body.
Consume five to six meals a day in a bid to reduce heartburn. This is unlike when you eat three meals a day because it encourages consumption of food in large quantities all at once. With that practice, you reduce heartburn cases.
Take any beverages in between meals rather than taking them during meals. This prevents you from distending your stomach and ensures you sip drinks rather than gulping. Remember to take enough water during pregnancy.
