The mile high city of Denver, Colorado is a beautiful place to live and play. We have the mountains in our backyard for hiking, biking and skiing, and the city proper also boasts incredible parks, landmarks and restaurants. If you live here or in town for a weekend vacation, here are some unexpected romantic spots to enjoy your loved one.
Museum of Contemporary Art rooftop
Take your sweetheart here on an evening they have the rooftop open late. Grab a couple of drinks and head outside to enjoy the city lights, train bells in the background and open air of the rooftop. Or, head inside to the bubble garden and cozy up in one of the nooks.
Cranmer Park steps
Pack a picnic basket with wine, cheese, cured chorizo and a baguette and head over to the Hilltop neighborhood gem, Cranmer Park. The view of the mountains from the steps is amazingly breathtaking and the park is quite picturesque itself. Bring your fury friends and make a lazy afternoon of it.
Millenium Bridge connects the new Union Station area with Riverfront/Commons Park. Get ice cream from Little Man in LoHi and then trek over to the bridge to sit up top near one of the garden planters. There’s plenty of people watching during the day, and the lights of the city and bridge are beautiful come nightfall.
Big tree behind Denver Museum of Nature and Science
This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Denver. There’s a huge tree you can’t miss behind the museum off Colorado Blvd. and 23rd. Pack some lunch or an early dinner and head under the tree for a gorgeous view of downtown and the mountains. It’s less busy than Wash Park and just as beautiful of a setting.
