Trust in the Lord for He is good, His mercy endures forever.
This passage is chocked filled with so many encouraging messages. We need these real reminders to strengthen and build confidence within ourselves. No matter who you speak with, no one will say that changing your lifestyle is an easy task. Yes, everyone agrees that it it a great thing to do (if you can pull it off). However there is no need to go it alone. There is a support system out there greater than this blog posting, and other resources you may seek. God is there. Not only is He there, but He begins this bible verse with the word trust. We should approach changing our lifestyle with a firm belief that God can and does deliver. We have to learn how to firmly walk in that, allowing our confidence in God to take the lead because we Trust Him.
The Trust you give, yields good things, because God is ALL good, that is not a hard concept to realize if you have a relationship with the Father. If you are possibly on the fence with Him in this area of your life, I know without fail; He will take your efforts and yield good things that will motivate you. There is no telling what He will do, but whatever it is, it will be so good and so convincing that Trust in Him will grow. That confirmation and firm belief is what we cling to on our path to wholeness. We know healthier living it is not an easy road, but it is a road we have chosen to be on. A road that becomes much easier to stay on now that you are armed with Trust in the goodness of our Lord and Savior.
But to keep it real, even with the best intentions, we sometimes fail and fall short. It happens to the best of us. Forgiveness is never found in the dress that won’t fit (because of the cookies) or jeans button that popped off when buttoning (that tasty cheeseburger was the culprit). These type of reality checks can create depression sending some of us into the arms of the closest drive thru. At these types of crossroads we must remember His Mercy, it endures forever. So no matter what screw up we made it can be forgiven and because of His Mercy, it is not only forgiven, it is forgotten. We should not hold on to our past lifestyle mistakes as a constant reminder (that is the devil’s way of doing things). With God we focus on His incredible Mercy a Mercy that forgives and forgets.
Changing your lifestyle? Trust in the Lord for He is good, His Mercy endures forever.
