Construction began and the new hotel opened in November, 2013. Full House Resorts has a 10 year lease on the property. The grand opening was held December 4.
The new hotel is completely non-smoking. The decor is the new hotel is modern and bright. The rooms are larger than those in the original resort. Each room has a HD flat screen tv, wifi, and features individually controlled thermostats for climate control. There are 81 deluxe rooms and 23 suites. Rates in the new facility are approximately the same as in the resort proper. When investigating, the listed rates shown on the website were in the $98 – $150 range while when reserving a room the rate quoted was $70.
A shuttle transports guests across the parking area to the main resort. The shuttle moves from the covered portico at the North Star Tower to the covered valet parking area at the resort. If the shuttle isn’t waiting at the door, it can be summoned by contacting either a valet parking attendant or the hotel’s front desk. Entrance to the resort leads into an atrium that features an area of restaurants and a gift shop. To the north of the atrium is the hotel desk for the resort. The registration area sevices both the North Star Tower and the Rising Star Hotel. Directly east of the atrium is a ramp leading to the riverboat that houses the casino. With the addition of North Star Tower, the resorts now includes 294 hotel rooms and suites. To the south of the atrium is the center where name entertainers appear.
The atrium contains four restaurants. The River View Buffet is a delicious all-you-care-to-eat bounty of food with a beautiful setting overlooking the scenic Ohio River. At Wellington’s, the patron can experience warmth and elegance in this fine dining setting. A food court serves Cincinnati’s best: Graeter’s Ice Cream, LaRosa’s Pizza and Skyline Chili. The Pub serves appetizers and frosty beverages while teams are on television or bands are performing.
