Whether you’re visiting Washington, D.C. for the first time or you simply want a fun night out with friends, there are many options when choosing which club to visit. To make your life easier, here are suggestions on the top dance clubs within the D.C. area.
The Park at Fourteenth
Also known as “Park”, this is by far one of the top upscale clubs in the DC area. Located in Northwest DC, at 14th and K, this club has 4 levels (including the bottom floor) and is the main attraction for many young professionals, out-of-towners and locals. Park has one of the best happy hours on Thursdays and Fridays and stays open until 3:00am (sometimes later) Thursday-Saturday. During the summer, Sundays are reserved for day parties which normally start at 4:00pm and end at 9:00pm. Don’t be surprised if you see some of your favorite celebrities at Park because it is the go-to spot for many famous actors, athletes and musicians. If you decide to visit, it would best to take a taxi or ride the Metro, but if you must drive there is valet available and garages within walking distance (some can be very pricey).
If you’re into the Miami vibe, this is the place for you! MIA is located in the Dupont Circle area of Northwest DC on 18th street. The house and hip-hop music is energetic and a perfect place to let loose. The venue is pretty small with two floors, but tons of fun. There is usually an acrobatic dancer to watch on the pole, VIP tables along the dance floor (and on the 2nd floor) and many young locals partying non-stop. MIA normally stays open until 2 or 3am and is within walking distance to many other clubs in the area. Parking is very bad so cabbing it or taking the metro is ideal.
Here is where you will find the ultimate sexy! Another upscale DC treasure, there is a nice mixture of hip-hop and pop music to dance to with a sexy crowd. Located within walking distance of the White House at 515 15th Street Northwest DC, this is the perfect place for a night out with friends and is uniquely built on top of the W Hotel. There is also an outdoor, rooftop patio that has a perfect view of the National Monument. Cabbing is always a smart idea, but there is meter and garage parking if necessary. POV is open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, but get there early enough so that you don’t have to wait in line because once capacity is reached, it’s tough to get in.
Formerly known as Current Lounge, this is a great place for good music and a local crowd. The venue is pretty small, but does have an outdoor patio that is open in the summer time for popular day parties. Located in the Dupont Circle area on 18th street, the club is situated within a popular party area, which is very convenient for club hopping. Open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, Rosebar is perfect for great hip-hop music and a fun atmosphere. Be sure to cab it or metro, otherwise you will be searching for a parking spot if you don’t get there early enough.
