How will you spend St. Patty’s Day in Charlotte? The following guide will point you in the right direction for St. Patrick’s Day events in Charlotte so you can go green on Saturday, March 15th.
St. Patrick’s Day is never complete without a family-friendly parade to mark the day. Charlotte’s 18th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. in Uptown Charlotte at the intersection of Tryon and 9th street. The Charlotte St. Pat’s Day website offers information about this year’s event, along with a detailed map of the parade route. Last year, over 70,000 adults and children lined the streets to watch one of Charlotte’s largest parades of the year, and this year’s parade promises to come to life with just as much pipe and drum music, festive floats and green fun. The 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal is Tom Murray, the Chief Executive Officer of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA).
Looking for more St. Patrick’s Day activities for the family? The 18th Annual Charlotte Goes Green Festival is slated to be bigger and better than ever. This year’s festival runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on S.Tryon St. between 3rd St. and Stonewall St. The location of the event has been expanded to accommodate an ever-increasing crowd of festival-goers. With no admission fee to attend, bring the entire family because there will be plenty of food, live Irish music and Celtic fun for people of all ages. Because the festival runs throughout the day, plan on visiting the festival both before and after the parade.
If you are looking for some adult festivities on St. Patrick’s Day in Charlotte, you cannot miss this year’s World’s Largest Pub Crawl.
