Hawaii Islands are absolutely breath taking. The rugged landscapes, volcanoes, beautiful beaches, luaus and fresh exotic fruit are only a small glimpse of what the islands have to offer. While some islands offer more than others, all of the eight major islands have something fantastic for vacationers. If you are searching for affordable surf lessons and excursions for your Hawaiian vacation, I have compiled a list of a few must do’s.
- 1. Aloha Beach Services – Waikiki (in Honolulu on the island of Oahu) – Group lessons are $40/hour plus the cost of the board rental ($15). ABS comes highly recommended on Trip Advisor with 5 stars. While they aren’t the cheapest surf lessons you can find, they offer great service, friendly staff, and competitive prices. They also offer outrigger canoe rides for $15/person.
- 2. The Surf Bus – Oahu – If you are looking for a longer excursion, The Surf Bus offers a day long adventure. Included in the outing is an island tour, lessons, equipment and lunch for $94. They also offer snorkel tours, bodyboarding, bike tours, waterfall walk & swim and standup paddle boards.
- 3. Kahalu’u Bay Surf & Sea – Kona – Safe and easy lessons. 2 hours of private or group surf lessons. While the price is more than other lessons offered, this package includes the board, lesson, rash guards and booties. $99 for a group lesson or $175 for one on one.
Aside from surfing, there are many other awesome adventures in Hawaii for you to do. You can hike up a volcano, visit the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu, see the Pearl Harbor memorial, snorkel, golf, go fishing or horseback riding, or simply have a day at the spa. Hawaii Islands offer so much outdoor fun. The temperature is always nice, so young or old can enjoy themselves and be comfortable.
When it’s time to lay your head down from your exhausting day, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is a very nice, affordable place to stay and relax while you are there. The Kauai Beach Resort in Kauai is another awesome place to stay and not break the bank while doing so.
Your Hawaiian adventure should be fun, affordable and unforgettable. Booking online through sites like Booking.com and Travelocity.com are great ways to compare prices and scope out the best deal. You can also see reviews from fellow vacationers who have been there, and done all the things you are hoping to do. Aloha!
