There isn’t a gamer alive who doesn’t get excited about new game releases. It doesn’t matter what platform or company produces them, it’s the thrill of playing something new that captures the minds of all us that love a great video game.
I’ve been a gamer all of my life and there are some games that are just so good that they are anticipated with so much passion that release dates and pre-ordering is second hat to people, such as me. Here are my top picks for the most exciting new releases:
Elder Scrolls Online
While it’s still in beta form (some are able to play now if they receive a ticket), this online MMORPG has been hugely anticipated by fans of the console games. Oblivion, Morrowind, and Skyrim and the rest of the Elder Scroll series, developed by Bethesda, are games so vast that it takes months to complete. The April release date of this game will be heavier than Molag Bal’s war hammer.
Dark Souls II
As a sequel to Dark Souls, this game, produced by Namco, pushes the boundaries of every limit you may have while trying to keep your character alive. If you have played Demon’s Souls, you are in for a treat. Not only is the gameplay harder and gorier, it will make you a hero to all of your friends if you dare to beat it. The drop date is 3/11/21014. It’s not to be missed.
Destiny proves that it will be a first-class first-person-shooter (FSP). The decline of civilization is at hand and who is the hero to rebuild it? You! What’s even more fun is that it is a multi-player game that is focused on rebuilding the world with one death of a nemesis at a time. Those who are waiting for this new FSP will have to wait until September of 2014, but the trailer is oh so awesome.
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Wolfenstein is yet another fun FPS brought to the public by the aforementioned best-selling Bethesda Softworks. This game puts you right into the middle of a post WWII world dominated by the Nazis. Wolfenstein promises plenty of shooting action with an excellent storyline. It won’t hit stores until December of 2014, but it’s worth the wait.
This year proves to be an exciting year for video game releases, especially for the online and FPS fanatics. The XBox One fans are getting their share of the fun as well. Make sure to pre-order your games so that other fans don’t grab them up first.
