Nail biting finishes, loose corners, and some of the craziest fans in the world are just a few reasons why you may love a good NASCAR race.
Second only to the NFL, this family-owned and operated empire is one of the most exhilarating competitions today.
So here you have it, my top five thrill invoking, get fired up, excited NASCAR race tracks in no particular order.
Richmond International Speedway
One of the most popular tracks by fans and drivers alike, Richmond International Speedway craves competition just in its design. The track is just wide enough for side by side driving but not quite large enough to pass creating some awesomely intense moments.
Talladega Super Speedway
Residing in Alabama, this tri-oval track is the longest NASCAR oval and seats about 80,000 fans. This track also holds the fastest recorded time at 216 mph. Talladega Speedway made my top five because not only are the stats astounding and impressive and the races intense and exciting but there’s a level of intrigue as well when you consider the rumors of “The Talladega Jinx.”
Bristol Motor Speedway
Exceeding expectations is the mission of this speedway. A banking degree topping off at 28 degrees and a reputation of the actual track being an instigator for post race fights, Bristol made my list because when you want fast, furious, and exciting, Bristol Motor Speedway is where you’ll want to find yourself seated.
The hotdogs, the trophies, the hard-hitting action; only a few of the super exciting qualities Martinsville Speedway possesses. Size certainly doesn’t matter in Virginia; Martinsville is the shortest track on the Sprint Cup circuit but thanks to the size and shape you’re certain to experience some of the closest races in the sport.
Daytona International Speedway
Any top 5 list pertaining to NASCAR isn’t complete until the Daytona International Speedway makes its appearance. The self proclaimed “American Icon” is currently being redesigned to seat over 100,000 spectators. Built in 1958 this speedway is home to the Daytona 500 and as American as apple pie and as exciting as NASCAR gets.
Every racing fan has that one moment, that one race, at that one track that they will never forget. The mere thought gives you goosebumps and raises your blood pressure. Creating moments like those are what tracks like these are all about.
