Summer is almost here! It’s barbeque season once again and I can’t wait to throw my small BBQ parties and get together with friends and family.
The good thing about this gatherings is that no one ever misses to show up when invited… Guess why? Simply because I make the best Barbecue steaks ever!
I’m going to share with you my 5 amazing grilling tips that will give you a mouth watering experience the next time you choose to do a barbeque.
I prefer using a charcoal grill because it gives the meat a natural yet flavorful taste that differs from when using a gas grill. Meat needs to cook slowly and absorb the smoke from the charcoal for it to be as tasty. Not saying that grilled meat from a gas grill will have a bad taste, it just won’t be as flavorful. However, buying very cheap charcoal or commercial charcoal with high added ingredients (A lot of glue and less sawdust) might not give you the best results. Always use good quality charcoal, it’s not hard to find ones that come in very fair prices.
Start by cleaning your grill grate. Have your BBQ grill on high heat to burn off any remaining foods then use your grill brush and a little elbow grease to brush off the rest.
Most people usually oil their grill grate to prevent the meat from sticking on it once they start cooking,
My personal preference is brushing the olive oil on both sides of the meat because it keeps it from burning out too quickly or causing excessive oil flare ups. Add spices of your choice on each side too, mines would be, pepper, garlic salt and Grill mates Spicy Montreal steak seasoning.
Before placing the meat on the BBQ grill, make sure it’s on high heat so that when you do it sears and holds the juice in. Never stab the meat while cooking you’ll leak all the juice out.
Turn the steak only once during cooking. Don’t keep interrupting this process by lifting the lid, you’ll only end up loosing the heat that will once again require a certain period of time to build up.
