Corns are a very embarrassing condition. They are hardened layers found on the toes and feet. Corns are usually caused by constant pressure, on an area of the foot.
Corns may cause the skin to appear red and inflamed. They can prevent you from wearing open-toe shoes or exposing your feet to others. Fortunately, there are various treatments for corns. There are medications available and also at-home treatments. Here are a few below:
Corn Remedy #1
A pumice stone is a great way to remove dead skin and reduce pain. Before using a pumice stone, wet the stone and your feet. Another option is to soak your feet for about fifteen minutes, before using the stone. Then, rub the stone back and forth across the corn, for up to five minutes daily. Make sure you rinse the stone, after each use. This will remove any excess debris and dead skin. Apply a moisturizer to the corn immediately.
Corn Remedy #2
Fill your bathtub with warm water. Then, add three tablespoons of baking soda. Place your feet in the solution, for at least twenty minutes. This will help remove any dead and hard skin.
Corn Remedy #3
Use a pad to reduce pain and friction. You can buy pads made of foam, cotton, or silicone. Another option is to use rubber foam, to make your own pads. Just cut it into a circle that is twice the size of your corn. Then, remove the center section. This will allow the pad to fit over your corn. Tape the pad to the affected area.
Corn Remedy #4
Do not wear thin socks. Thicker socks help to absorb pressure on the foot. Just be sure the socks don’t fit tightly. Make sure that the socks or shoes don’t rub against the corns.
