Todays LGBT community is stepping up. The LGBT community is finally showing their colors and proud of it too! Stepping up from being pushed down and considered different and being pushed down, finally stepping up to be proud of who and what they are. From pride parades with Demi Lovato to parading in the streets of West Hollywood. To be able to have such pride when so many are against it, it is truly inspiring and fun.
I attended a gay pride parade this month in West Hollywood, and it was a blast! Everyone is so accepting of how you look, how you’re dressed, your sexual preference, and everyone is just having fun and not letting anything get to them, it was definitely a one of a kind experience. I experienced no negativity whatsoever and pure acceptance. With everyone dancing, and having fun, how could you not? It wasn’t all fun and games, I learned about sexually transmitted diseases, and the dangers of unprotected sex. I also learned about the LGBT youth, how so many kids are being bullied because of who they are. Its a shame really when one human treats another like they’re worthless. On top of what the youth is dealing with today they have to deal with being put down for who they are? They’re all dealing with school, school work, drama, and so much more, on top of everything else they must deal with being bullied? People need to understand that we are all equal in one way or another, and to be accepted as people.
Everyone deserves a happily ever after, whether it is with a woman or man, everyone deserves a white picket fence with a happily ever after. There are still 29 states that do not have marriage equality. Now is it fair that a man can marry a woman from just one night of knowing her? Is it fair that people can get married just to get a visa? Now, is it fair that 2 people can love each other, care for each other, and mutually want to be together, legally, for a lifetime but cant due to some law? No it is not, people need to understand that the world only moves forward and we should progress instead of moving back. So be you, and let others be themselves.
