Packing clothes for a trip can be a fun part of planning for a vacation. Depending on your destination will depend on what you pack. How you get to your destination will also depend on how you pack for a trip.
Plane trips can be hard on your luggage. Take luggage that is tough and can stand being tossed around with other luggage. You can save your good luggage on a train or boat trip and a car trip can be a good time to use your favorite comfortable luggage.
Any trip you go on is a time to be conservative with what you take for clothes. If you don’t need it do not pack it.
If you will be dressing up you can take a plain outfit and change it with accessories to make it look different. Use jewelry, suit coats, ties and scarves to make the outfit look different.
Take only the shoes you need. If you are hiking and dressing up you will probably need at least two sets of shoes to wear. Tongs or sandals do not take up much room so you can take a pair of them for hot weather.
When packing dress cloths you may want to use a folding hanger to keep them nice looking.
For your regular shirts, shorts and pants you can roll your cloths instead of fold them. Folding puts creases into your cloths and you may need to iron them. If you roll your cloths before you pack them they will be in a roll without creases in them. Then you can slip them into your luggage so you can see the individual rolls of clothes. You only need to move one rolled item instead of digging down into the layers of folded cloths to find what you want. You can even roll up jackets and other outer clothing and pack them in your luggage.
You can fit shoes, hats and other items under and into the rolls of clothes to fit them into your luggage.
When packing for a vacation take only what you will use. Take as few pieces of luggage as you need to and keep it simple. The more you take with you the more complicated your clothing will be. You want to have fun on vacation not worry about what you are going to wear. If you run out of cloths you can always wash them. Many motels and hotels have washing facilities for guests to use.
