Teenagers make it hard to celebrate the holidays since they are so busy and think everything is too young for them. They think they are all grown up so you need to find fun in a grown up way. You can still find ways to make Easter fun for you and them.
Games designed for adults can be fun for teenagers like cards or word games. Pick games that fit the size of the people celebrating with you. If you have a lot of people then games like charades is good. If there are only the two of you then a quieter game like cards will entertain for awhile.
Easter egg hunts can be designed for teenagers. Don’t use hard boiled eggs since that is childish and boring. Instead use some of those plastic eggs that can be opened up and you can fill them with tiny things. Money is good to put in the plastic eggs since that will always get a teenagers attention. Use coins to fill them or even dollars in some to make them different. You can even put some candy in a few just for a difference. Hide the eggs in a place that is not public like your house. Hiding the eggs outside is not the way to have an Easter egg hunt with teenagers.
You may not have plastic eggs on hand. Just hide some money. Take a few quarters or dollars and place them around the house. To make the hunt somewhat special get a roll of half dollars to hide for the teens to find. Half dollars are special because you don’t see them everyday.
Make an Easter basket for your teen. You can put a few candy items in it but instead of toys put in some things that a teenager can use like a toothbrush, hair gel, or shaving cream.
Teenagers still need to eat so make a good Easter dinner that they will enjoy. If you don’t want to cook you can still take them out to eat but make it a restaurant that is not in your neighborhood.
Include the teens in the making of dinner. Have them make some cut out Easter cookies or other goodies that they like. Let the teens be creative and make a recipe they would like to try.
Teenagers can be very hard to entertain and nothing you do is foolproof. If you try to do something fun don’t expect too much from your teenager or you will be disappointed. What ever you do keep your expectations low.
